What is a Roto Molded cooler anyway?

These high end coolers are constructed with what is known as rotationally molded plastic. The rotomolding procedure ensures that every part of the cooler is made with a continuous thick wall with no imperfectionsDue to their unique production process, Roto-molded coolers are more durable than an average plastic or styrofoam cooler. With their insulated walls and seamless design, these coolers are the best coolers for keeping ice from melting too quickly. This ice retention lets you keep your drinks cold, and keeps your catch from spoiling on your fishing, camping or hunting trip.

Why are your coolers cheaper than other brands?

We sell direct to you and have setup a business model that cuts out the middle men and the retail mark-ups. Being a direct to consumer retailer utilizing regional sales reps along with word of mouth & social media to promote our coolers we are able to offer these high quality coolers at a competitive price.

How can your cooler hold more ice?

With the  dimensions of our coolers being a bit larger than the competition, Slate Gear coolers offer larger capacity than the competition. Other major brands offer 25 quart, 45 quart and 65 quart coolers, we offer our coolers in 30 quart, 50 (actually 53.3) and 75 quart sizes. Bigger, Better, Cheaper!

How does your quality compare to other coolers?

Slate Gear coolers are some of the best rotomolded coolers on the market today. With their roto-molded construction and ultra-thick, dense foam insulation, our coolers are virtually indestructible. 

How long will your coolers hold ice?

Slate Gear brand coolers have been tested to hold ice for up to 10 days with proper use and amount of ice. Ice retention will vary depending on a few factors: where the cooler is stored, how often it's opened, how much ice you put in, item(s) being stored, etc. 

Do you offer any discount?

In order to keep our pricing as low as possible, we eliminated the online pricing games some others may play. By offering 1 price to everyone, you can shop confidently knowing you are getting the best price at the time of your purchase. We simply want to offer the lowest price we can to everyone.

Where are your coolers made?

Like the majority of the other big brands, our coolers are expertly produced in qualified factories in China. This allows us to provide a great quality product at even better prices.

How do I clean my cooler?

Using dish soap and warm water will generally clean your cooler right up. For those more stubborn stains and problems with odors, you can use a solution of warm water and bleach. As with any plastic material, please take care when cleaning with harsh chemicals and wear proper protection!

Is there any Sales Tax?

Sales tax is charged for order shipping to any address in Florida.

How do I get a replacement part?

If your cooler is out of warranty, or you broke something during use, you can find replacement parts available through our online store. If you're not sure if this damage is covered under warranty, please contact us and we'll be more than happy to help.

Can I use dry ice in my cooler?

We do not recommend using dry ice in your coolers.

Is there a warranty?

All of our coolers come with a 5 Year Limited Manufacturer Warranty. During this period, Slate Gear Co. will repair or replace defective parts with new or reconditioned parts at Slate Gear Co.'s option, without charge to you. If we are unable to repair any defects, we will gladly accept any returns.

How long does it take to ship my order?

In stock items typically ship within 24 hours, if not the same day. Shipping holidays will affect the date of pick-up.

Do I pay for shipping?

We offer FREE Ground shipping on all orders over $39. However, you will be responsible for arranging any return shipping and costs

Where do you ship?

Currently, we are only able to offer free shipping to the contiguous United States. At this time we are unable to ship to  P.O. Boxes. We do ship to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Guam and Military APO/FPO addresses, but additional shipping charges do apply.

Where's my cooler?

Most order will ship via UPS Ground. Delivery times are typically 1-5 business days depending on the ship to address. You will be emailed a tracking number for your order. If you see any problems during the delivery of your order, please contact us right away.

My ship to address is wrong.

Please make sure to check your ship to address carefully! We are not responsible for any orders that are sent to an incorrect address if that is the address provided on the order. If orders are returned to us due to an incorrect address, we can resend the item for an additional shipping charge but we cannot offer any refunds.

My cooler arrived damaged. What now?

Oh no! We hate to hear this, but sometimes this happens during transit. Our cooler are built super tough, so it would be rare for it to arrived damaged, but it may happen. If your cooler arrived damaged and shows signs of damage to the package, immediately photograph all of the damage and contact us right away. We will work with you and the carrier to submit an claim to resolve the issue. 

Do you ship internationally?

We currently do not ship internationally.
